Profiles of Green Zone Exhibitors

Alberene Soapstone
Alberene Soapstone Company processes architectural grade soapstone from our quarries in Central Virginia. The majority of our material is from reclaimed blocks quarried over the past 120 years, as well as new blocks from our working site. All of our work is done at our plant in Schuyler, Virginia from quarries no more than five miles away using no explosives in our extraction or chemicals in our processing.

Bambusa
Bamboo towels are natural, eco-friendly, practical, highly absorbent, luxurious, and very easy to maintain. Traditionally people buy cotton towels, but cotton is less absorbent and can quickly develop a musty smell. Bamboo towels solve these problems. Bamboo towels soak up the water right off of your body as they are up to four times more absorbent than cotton. Bamboo's anti-fungal and anti-bacterial nature makes towels smell clean and fresh longer. Bamboo is a new fiber that has many other green benefits.

Capitol Granite and Marble
Capitol Granite is a quality custom fabricator and installer that meets or exceeds customer expectations each and every time. We want to make sure you understand our process, so the process you go through to make a decision is an informed one.

Creative Building Products
Creative Building Products, located in central Virginia, is a distributor of a variety of innovative and energy efficient building products. Our company is backed by a strong history in the building industry and we've always been particularly interested in various energy efficient building methods. In 1993, our sister company Creative Environments Co. built the first complete Insulated Concrete Form house in the state of Virginia, making us one of the most experienced with ICFs in the state.

Because of there superior energy efficiency, strength and durability, Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs) have always been our primary focus. In the past we have sold various ICF form systems and have found the quality and user-friendliness of ECO-Block Insulated Concrete Forms to be superior to other forming systems on the market today. Over the years we have continued to add products that compliment the quality and durability of Insulated Concrete Forms; including products such as: Parex stucco and EIFS, Polyguard waterproofing, Dietrich steel floor joist systems, MM air filters, and Wind-Lock tools and accessories.

Creative Conservation
Creative Conservation is recognized as the industry leader for spray foam insulation and waterproofing systems.

Decks Unlimited
Featuring the GeoDeck, an inorganic composite decking material that uses hulls, a renewable resource. In addition, Decks Unlimited uses mostly other wood composite deck products that use recycled wood fibers as opposed to Virginia timber harvested specifically for wood deck boards as with traditional materials.

Delta Temp Heating and Cooling
Looking for an efficient, cost effective, and environmentally friendly heating/cooling system? A geothermal heat pump is the greenest way to go. An EPA study of energy efficiency concluded geothermal energy is the most environmentally friendly heating/cooling system. The United States National Renewable Energy Laboratory concluded that geothermal energy is more efficient and cost-effective compared with conventional residential systems. Energy and cost savings of geothermal heat pumps will vary by region and type of conventional system they're compared with. But the energy cost of geothermal versus conventional HVAC systems will always be lower — and the geothermal system will always be greener. According to the Department of Energy and the EPA, geothermal systems are the most environmentally friendly way to heat and cool your home. Our systems emit no carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide or other greenhouse gasses, which are considered to be major contributors to environmental air pollution. They are truly a natural, green heat pump.

An exciting new tax credit is now available for home and commercial building owners who install geothermal heating and cooling systems through the Energy Improvement and Extension Act of 2008 (H.R. 1424). H.R. 1424 offers a onetime tax credit of 30% of the total investment for homeowners who install residential ground loop or ground water geothermal heat pumps.. A credit of 10% of the total investment is also available (no maximum) for a commercial system installation.

E-Shield
eShield™: The New Attic Energy Barrier Insulation System – Innovative and Environmentally-Friendly Reflective Foil Insulation

A revolutionary new type of insulation, that stops 97% of radiant energy transfer, eShield™ is the most cost-effective way to lower heating and cooling bills. U.S. Department of Energy tests have shown that adding eShield™ attic energy barrier insulation to existing insulation provides more energy savings than adding 12 more inches of fiberglass insulation.

, eShield™ is also a very environmentally-friendly type of insulation and is perfectly suited for “greenovations.” Approved by the Department of Energy, eShield™ is Energy Star ® approved and qualifies for the energy tax credits.

Felice Decks, Inc.
Felice Decks Inc. prides itself on using TREX composite material. Trex® is made from about 50 percent recycled and reclaimed plastic and 50 percent reclaimed wood. These materials would otherwise go unused in landfills.
