About Maria
Maria is a certified Hatha Yoga teacher. She holds a BA in Psychology and Special Ed. Maria has worked in the Fitness Industry for over 20 years. She currently works as a personal trainer, group fitness trainer, yoga and pilates teacher. Maria's passion for wellness both mind and body prompted her to become a registered yoga teacher. Among various styles of yoga she practices Maria deeply resonates with the belief in the healing ability within ourselves. She brings a healing approach to all of her classes. She teaches beginner to advanced classes. Maria loves that the benefits of a regular practice has discovered a calm and an increased connection to herself, her life and has opened her life up in so many ways.

What inspires Maria to teach yoga is....
I love life. I feel more connected with everyone and teaching is a privilege. Teaching body based practices such as yoga creates us to be aware of the breath. This awareness can help you embody the power of mindfulness and live fully in the present,whether your jogging or cooking. The result is the ability to live your life in the reality of the present, rather than in the worries of the future or regrets of the past. One becomes more connected to your heart and live from your heart space. Maria took her yoga off the mat in 2009 when she and a dear friend opened the doors to Mary's Place by the Sea in Ocean Grove. Mary's Place is a cancer center for women. Mary's Place provides hope, prevention, education and support for women while they are in treatment. Mary's Place has helped over 450 women to date and just this summer opened a home which we are leasing to own.
