Special Guest Brian Santos

Brian Santos, known nationally as the “Wall Wizard,” will share his secrets for achieving the perfect paint or wallpaper job at the Jersey Shore Home Show.

Santos, a fourth generation painting contractor and author of the popular guide “Painting Secrets” will explain how the pros do it. In three separate seminars at the show, Santos will tackle basic painting, creating faux finishes and coping with wallpaper and borders. Armed with buckets and brushes, he’ll demonstrate techniques that he has showcased in television appearances on ABC’s “Good Morning, America,” HGTV’s “Smart Solutions,” and NBC’s “Today” show.

Painting Secrets - Friday at 3pm, Saturday at 1pm & Sunday at 1pm
This program will teach you how to look through wizard eyes with confidence and use the most inexpensive and practical decorating medium, paint. Brian will then show you how to use everyday household products such as PAM cooking spray, plastic cling wrap and magnets to speed up your painting by 400%. This "Wizard" reveals the real secrets of how to use masking tape, paint brushes and rollers as well as how to select the right tools that make your paint job faster, easier and more fun. Faux Finish Secrets - Friday at 5pm, Saturday at 3:30pm & Sunday at 3pm
Brian reveals and explores how basic techniques such as dragging, flogging and whacking can create realistic and dramatic effects like stone, leather and wood in a few simple steps. This show focuses on the practical hands-on application of the three hottest faux finishing effects used in home design and decorating today. Brian will present many of the same application techniques that Hollywood set decorators have used for generations to create clever visual effects and realistic illusions. As part of your apprenticeship, you will learn the real "why" behind the "how-to" of these dramatic and exciting old world effects as well as, how to apply them successfully in your home.

Wallcovering Secrets - Saturday at 5pm
In this interactive session of the Wizards Workshop series, Brian Santos "The Wall Wizard" will magical demystify the most common myths, mistakes and misconceptions that everyone has about wallcoverings. For example; How can I permanently secure lifting seams? How do I repair the torn wallpaper in the kids room in 2 seconds?, Why does my border keep fallen off the wall? What can I do about the bubbles trapped underneath the wallpaper? And finally, how can I quickly and easily strip multiple layers of wallcoverings off the wall without damaging the wall surface beneath. Brian will reveal the time tested tips, tricks and techniques that answer and solve these daunting home decorating dilemmas.
